As a Hillcrest High School Ram, he played varsity soccer his junior and senior year and took on the role of co-captain senior year.įollowing high school Chris attended Furman University to further his education in pursuit of becoming a strength and conditioning coach. Right before joining Knight Performance Factory, Chris interned with the football strength staff at Appalachian State University where he was able to coach the two time Sun Belt champions.Ĭhris believes that everyone has physical potential regardless of age, athletic ability, or health status, and his mission is to help those he works with reach that potential.Ĭhris is a local product of Simpsonville, SC where he started his sports journey at the age of 4 by getting involved in basketball, baseball, and football. There he coached highschool and college athletes at Coach Ronai’s private business. While he was in Connecticut, he was able to work under USA Baseball strength and conditioning coach Jim Ronai. There he had the opportunity to program and work with several athletic programs, including the national championship winning lacrosse program, Ivy League Championship soccer and football programs, as well as the baseball program. While attending Winthrop, Chris interned with the sports performance stagg at Yale University. Chris decided to pursue coaching after graduating from Winthrop with a degree in exercise science. After graduating from Eastside High School in Taylors, SC, he attended Winthrop University where he developed an interest in weightlifting and exercise. He started playing sports at a young age, but fell in love with soccer when he was 8 and played competitively until the age of 18. His desire to influence positive change in people's lives led him to team up and begin Knight Performance Factory.Īside from coaching, Ryan enjoys many types of music, books, relaxed time with friends, and pizza.Ĭhris was born and raised in Greenville, SC. Prior to graduating, Ryan began a career in the fitness industry as an intern and working part time. In 2008 Ryan graduated from Furman University with a degree in Health & Exercise Science. As a student athlete, he finished with some of the schools top strength & speed records. Upon graduating High School, Ryan finished as a member of the BETA Club, The All-time Leading Receiver of Hillcrest High School, and a scholarship to play football at Furman University.ĭuring his time at Furman, Ryan was a member of the 2004 SoCon Championship team and 2005 National Semi-Finalist Team as a Wide Receiver and Kick Returner. During that time Ryan won 6 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze) in the Junior Olympics for the Pentahlon and Decathlon. Around the age of 10 he made a switch to Track & Field, football, and basketball where he participated in those sports into his High School years. From the age of 5 Ryan played soccer, baseball and basketball. Other than coaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Pam) and his children (Aryonna, Jackson) as well as taking in an occasional sporting event! PJ is thrilled just to help others along with their journey as it gives him great joy to see others accomplish their goals. His passion has continued to grow which has led him on this new journey with Knight Performance Factory. Over his 9 year career he has had the opportunity to work with thousands of youth athletes in all sports, several professional athletes and several hundred adult athletes. Prior to his senior year of football, PJ served as a intern in a training facility, loved it and realized he had a passion for coaching others. Immediately following his playing career, PJ began his working career in the fitness industry. PJ majored and graduated with a degree in Health and Exercise Science. He was the starting quarterback in 20 in which he received several accolades including TEAM MVP in 2007. PJ was a part of the 2004 Socon Championship team and 2005 National Semi-finalist team as a backup quarterback. His high school career and academics led to PJ receiving a full scholarship to play football at Furman University. PJ was also a great student and was a part of the BETA Club throughout high school. He continued to play football and basketball throughout high school which led to his recent induction to the Greenwood High School sports Hall of Fame. He began playing sports at the age of 4 and played the three majors (football, basketball, baseball) until his high school years. Renaldo, better known as PJ, was born and raised in Greenwood, S.C.
